Hey there!

I’m Amy, a wife and mom of 3 beautiful, amazing kiddos aged 19, 21, and 23. I’m passionate about my family, music, cooking, and life.

I started this blog after talking about parenting and saying, “We really should be talking about the transition years” to friends, parents, colleagues, and anyone who was interested, really.

There is so much on the internet about babies, early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school, but not enough about parenting post high school. Post high school (18+) is challenging, unique, exciting, exhilarating, scary, and uncertain. Whether your child is off to college, trade school, working, moving out, whatever the case may be, we have to parent differently. They need us still, not as much, and sometimes more. You see, “adulting” is hard, and in my opinion, parenting young adults is just as hard if not more, as parenting young children.

But it’s also full of joy and discovery! A time where we let go of our children’s hands, are excited for their new independence, and maybe a little scared too. Let’s share and celebrate the years our children become our friends!

    About Me

Hi, I’m Amy! I’m a busy wife (2nd time around) and mother of 3 amazing young adult children aged 19, 21, and 23. I spent time working and volunteering in the schools when my children were young and thought I might pursue a career working with children and adolescents. So I went off to get my Masters in Education, Special Education and another Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. My specialty focus was children with anxiety, specifically Selective Mutism after my daughter was diagnosed at 4.

After grad school, I moved into medical device and biotechnology as both clinical and sales managers, and I currently work in business development for a medical communications agency.
